WARNING! Don't be deceived by the "New Orleans Style" wording. Nothing about this place is N.O. style. The quality of this food is a joke. I have some pictures attached to prove it. We actually paid an upcharge for the gumbo with our meal. I have never in my life had gumbo with large pieces of catfish nuggets in it and the broiled shrimp with the head attached and full of poop. We wasted $30+ on a meal for 2. You've been warned. P.S. owned by Asians who say whatever they need to bring in patrons.

If you are looking for FRESH seafood, then you have got to check out Bayou Cat. They have fresh catfish, oysters, and crawfish boils! It's so hard to find a good seafood place. Thank you to friends for sending me this way.

Terrible. If I could rate less than a star I would. The food was just awful. I ordered the shrimp boil with the crabs and potatoes W/ sausage, everything tasted gross. The shrimp were hard to peel but very mushy, everything had a after taste that just makes me want to puke. 50$ down the drain. Never agian.

Born and raised in LA and i'm telling you these people know what they are doing with their boiled crawfish!!! None of that "seasoning on the top of the crawfish" bs ---thank god!! Seriously, don't even waste your time in line somewhere else! Shrimp Poboys and crawfish pies are amazing too!!

I generally hate catfish. But I love theirs. The gumbo is delicious and roux-based, graced with generous pieces of catfish and okra, not to mention great flavor! We got the fried okra and sweet potato fries, which the okra won easily. They were out of crawfish when we went-- I'd wonder how it is, but in the time we stood in line to order, at least three different customers came in asking specifically for the crawfish. They seemed so incredibly disappointed, it MUST be good, right? The shrimp po'boy was the star of the show for me. The service was fast, environment nice and quiet and easygoing, bathrooms acceptable, process reasonable. Would go back on occasion, if it were in my neck of the woods. What a treat!

This place has the best real catfish I have had in Arlington. They have fillet or whole fried catfish so you know you are getting the real deal. They also have frog legs,turkey necks,deserts and a whole lot more. Too much to list. You need to stop in and see for yourself. The lines are always out the door but you can call in your order.The prices are so cheap compared to other places we've eaten at.

1st time here and oh my goodness they did not disappoint!!! Had the 3 pc cat with a side of oysters fries hard. It’s served with hush puppies & fries. Seasoned well served hot & fresh!! Priced within reason. Whenever I’m on this side of town I will remember this place!

This place is nasty the fish taste like tank water and the shrimp has no flavor very nasty place. The restrooms are nasty the hush puppies are stale ,this place charges alot for nasty food .

I love the poboy shrimp and catfish baskets, but I think their closed.

The food was better before. I'll try it again and see if it gets its flavor back.

If y'all don't take that fish out that GUMBO and add some more meats (chicken, hot sausage, turkey necks and smoke sausages) like who stands over a pot of gumbo and says "Ooouuu let me add FISH"

Good seafood option in room dining or take home: catfish, shrimp, po boys, gumbo, crwafish, desserts, etc. Lines can get long Friday and Saturday evenings. Can also call to preorder.

I got the catfish and In my opinion, It didn’t taste like the real catfish that I’m used to. That catfish had no flavor and the cheap price had me suspicious that it may not be real catfish. The gumbo was excellent. The crawfish must have been good judging from the many people there from Louisiana.

Today I tried the online app for the first time. I placed my order and after about 3 minutes I got an error message that said the order didn't go through.Instead of placing it again online I figured I would just call it in.I called 52 times and received the same message each and every time. I understand busy but that was ridiculous. I really like the food but that is something that needs to be looked into.

The Crawfish was really Good Very Well Season. The Shrimp (bland) Was Over Cooked hard to peel, The Turkey Necks and Chicken Wings Were Amazing and The Potatoes Were A Boil Potato no flavor.

Always fresh, in stock and delicious!! If you have to wait.. it's worth it. BYOB

$11 for 3lbs of crawfish on their 11th anniversary. They are the real deal. No need to have flavors - just the original Cajun and that’s perfect.

Bayou Cat must write there own reviews, I went here based on the great reviews, BIG MISTAKE!!! The food was terrible the worse catfish I ever had. I wasted my money don't waste yours the food is horrible!!!!! 1/2 star

Food is great but the space is very small and only accommodates a small amount of people, lines are very long at times.

This is one of the best cajun places in the metroplex. I recommend trying everything they have to offer. My favorite is the Seafood Gumbo and I always have to order a dozen hushpuppies.

It’s definitely always best to eat here durning the week! On the weekend it is typically crowded and they have excellent lunch specials for 6.99 and 7.99. I’m from Louisiana and the food taste just like home. I live in mesquite but I drive here to eat all the time when I have the chance. Catfish is always off the charts, and staff is real friendly and fast with delivering food. -Wheezy

My first time here. Ive read great reviews about the fish and just the good ratings about their food.Ive had a hankering for shrimp though so i got a pound of headless shrimp.Well, some of the shrimp werent headless,wich is okay not a big problem.The only problem i had was that the shrimp werent deveined, also harder to peel because of that. Guess ive never had boiled shrimp that werent deveined, and peeled. Had to work to eat it so to say.Next time i will order the fish that they get all the reviews about! Yes im going back.

Best MEAT PIES & RED BEANS & 🍚 RICE

The food was awesome! We ordered catfish steaks bone in. Hot sandwich Po boy. Both delicious. However, the restaurant was filthy! The cakes on counter had mold on um. I didn't use the restroom; I probably wouldn't have eaten the food. Because if the floor & tables were that nasty! I could imagine what the bathroom looked like. 🤔😏

I'm from Louisiana, and this place is straight Legit! Just like home. In fact , better than most places from home. A must experience if you've never had authentic Cajun, Bayou flavour. Highly recommend.

I'm from the Gulf Coast. This is the only place in Arlington that cooks boiled seafood like what I'm used to in the 3rd Coast. Prices are always great. Food is always outstanding

Let me start off by first saying I was supposed to write a review yesterday but I didn’t get around to it. My family & I ordered some food . We got the boiled shrimp & they were over cooked, the sausage was all soft & not what I usually experience with them & now this is what they call “seafood gumbo “. Let me just say being a person who grew up there this isn’t it. Fish do not go in gumbo! Fish do not go in gumbo! Fish do not go in gumbo. Where’s the roux? The consistency of what I consider a gumbo wasn’t it. They definitely dropped the ball this time. Everybody don’t have the culture in them to prepare our food . Sorry but I’m probably definitely not coming back.

My family and I agree that this isn’t like New Orleans at all and don’t let any convince you. If they say it is then they obviously never been to New Orleans. This place was terrible both times, the way they fry it, the way they season it, and the shrimp po boy is small and nothing compared to New Orleans. Yeah never again. Stick to shell shack or something.

Three times in a row , I have asked for HIT SAUSAGE WITH NO CHEESE. WHEN I GET HOME , THERE'S CHEESE. CONSTANTLY ASKING FOR NO CHEESE, BUT THERE'S CHEESE. OWNER ISN'T ALWAYS ON SITE. TO KEEP IN MIND ,I SPEND A $100, EVERY TIME, BUT THE HOT SAUSAGE IS THE ONLY THING THAT THEY CAN'T GET RIGHT. VERY,VERYSAD

I went on Saturday itwas super busy but the food was excellent. Most of all they are organized friendly and efficient. 5star food and 5 star service. During covid-19 they brought the food to my car

If you like the true Louisiana style crawfish then this place is for you! It’s been hard trying to find a place in the area who serves crawfish like when I visit Louisiana. The place was packed but the line moved swiftly. The staff was really friendly as well. Check out the desserts, the lemon pie, Italian Cream Cake sweet potato cake were delicious.

It’s good you should go here . I loved it and I’m happy my boyfriend dragged me here despite the negative reviews . The shrimp and toast sandwich is amazing !

My favorite restaurant in Texas !!!! Has some of the best crawfish in the entire State and I have been to hundreds of restaurant looking for the New Orleans flavors and they deliver.

Food is great, if you're from Louisiana, crawfish boils, Catfish, shrimp, Po Boys. Gumbo, they definitely kept their roots. You can get Authentic Big Shots sodas and Pralines too. It's usually pretty busy so it's best to hit the online app and order ahead. That way you're good to go when you get there.
